I began leading classes for CoachInc:
Before coaching professionally:
My focus was in the music and graphic arts industries. In my early 20ís I was appointed the artistic director of a group of 150+ voices where together we toured the country, recorded albums and made several TV appearances. My career led me all the way to both Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. What I have learned through these professional experiences about diversity and human relationships as well as group dynamics and leadership is today invaluable in both my teaching and coaching practice.
My coaching practice:
Presently I work mostly with groups and non-profits helping them create a coaching culture in their life and work environments. This includes individual coaching client intervention as well as group facilitation, training and presentations. I am passionate about disseminating the coach approach either through group or individual training and also as a mentor coach.
Besides my position here at CoachU, I am also faculty at a sister coaching training school with branches both here in the US and Brazil. It is exciting to see my culturally diverse background and artistic experience playing such a unique role in creating new and fresh perspectives to the coach approach and especially in helping new coaches to go increasingly deeper into their coaching technique.
The most unique quality of my leadership:
My primary attention goes into establishing a space where the participants feel safe, energized and encouraged to explore, learn, discover, experiment, take risks and grow. In teleclasses and webinars, I like to strike a balance between delivering the material while at the same time tapping into each studentís experiences to enhance their learning. There is so much we can learn from each otherís perspectives.
What I expect from the coaches on my calls:
1. Showing up... Truly. One can only learn by being fully present and fully engaged. 2. Be a team player. When I facilitate a class, I am 100% committed to each individual student as well as the class as a whole. I hope students will come to class not only 100% fully committed to their own personal learning but also keenly aware of the benefit of group learning. Our class is our team and the more we embrace each other, the more we benefit individually.
My favorite benefit from leading classes:
Itís fascinating for me to see how coaching continues to grow into becoming an indispensable part of our culture. Every student and every insight that happens in class is yet another catalyst for transformation and human development. I feel honored to be here.
Feedback from students:
ďI really enjoyed the class. Elias is a great facilitator, keeping the class lively and interesting. His technique of asking for comments and following with ítell me more...í illustrated the coaching dynamic and encouraged class participation and thinking. Thanks for an engaging class.Ē
