I began leading classes for CoachInc:
Before coaching professionally:
I've done a lot of jobs in my life from being a Credit manager to a Field Project manager for Gulf Canada. Obtained my B.Ed and taught for six years but ran across the idea of coaching and never looked back. I took courses at CoachU, some from Thomas Leonard, which tells you how long ago that was.
My coaching practice:
I do contract work, for a private company, with Executives, local and provincial government agencies and health professionals. I'm a Certified EQi assessor and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor as well.
I believe supporting the strength, growth and development of coaches is what is most important to the future of coaching. The coaching is constantly evolving and the program CoachU offers is a powerful process to build leaders in our profession. I am proud to be part of this team.
The most unique quality of my leadership:
Every coach I meet in each class is incredibly unique. It is my role to nurture that uniqueness and then let each one shine in their own right. Its not my role to dole out knowlege. It is my role to create the stage where each coach can share information, ideas and thoughts that stem from that knowledge.
What I expect from the coaches on my calls:
I expect each coach, including myself, to be thoughtful, non-judgemental and considerate. However to keep in mind that each of us is human and imperfect. We all make mistakes but these too are opportunities for growth. As coaches it is our role to do this.
My favorite benefit from leading classes:
I never underestimate what I can learn from leading. I may acquire a new piece of information, a new perspective and through evaluations, an opportunity to improve how I lead. The more I lead, the better I become at both leading and coaching.
Feedback from students:
Maureen is an excellent instructor, has impeccable knowledge of the subject matter and a teaching style which made the class very challenging, rewarding and fun! I hope to interact with her in the future whether in a tele-class or as coaching resource.
