obtaining a score of 80% or better on each test.

certified coaches. (Your mentor coach letter can count as one of these two
letters. Note: These coaches must have actually heard you coach. [Their letter
should state that they have observed you coach.] )
- Answer three case-study questions, in essay
form. (These will be provided after application for certification has been
received).
EVIDENCE OF STANDARDS/ETHICS
- Be mentored for a minimum of six months by an ICF
Certified Coach (PCC or MCC) for a total of at least 10 hours
(additional fees required) .
- Review of SIX (6) coaching sessions with
actual clients by your ICF certified Mentor Coach or an ICF PCC or
MCC certified coach with written feedback and assessment around the key
coaching competencies provided. [This 'coach the coach' mentoring may be done
in person, via telephone, or review taped coaching sessions. Overall
verification and recommendation to be submitted in written form by the Mentor
Coach or ICF MCC or PCC coach. Note: Review feedback on the
session must be provided to you in written form by the coach doing the review

earned with clients generating net income. A maximum of 10%, not to exceed 75
hours, pro-bono coaching will be counted.
- This is to be submitted as a Coaching Time Log in
e-mail format.[Note: If the coach is not in private practice and works for a
company in which they are coaching internally, the 500 hour
requirement still applies, but client number may vary]. A coaching
relationship must be established and cannot be anyone over whom you have
supervisory responsibility. Coaching hours can be calculated as: number of
clients over a period of time, multiplied by actual time coached for each, to
equal at least the required minimum. Note dates you first began coaching as a
business and how many clients you have coached total, during that time. If the
form of your coaching is with teams/groups, then note the amount of groups and
number of participants in each group you have actually worked with and the
actual number of hours coached (count the time coached the same as with an
individual). [Note: Time being coached or participation in coach training
classes, does not count toward the time that you coached, nor does the
delivery of training programs.]
EVIDENCE OF COACHING ABILITY
- Successfully complete an
Interview/Examination conducted by the Certification Review
Committee. Focus will be on Coaching competencies, tools, skills,
communications, distinctions and coached/coaching experience. The oral review
will also include an actual coaching session.
