I began leading classes for CoachInc:
Before coaching professionally:
My background includes 20 years in corporate and government organisations within a variety of industries. I have held roles in executive management, consulting, project management, product development, marketing, and client services. Previously involved in family businesses, I have owned a number of small businesses including a consulting practice and an interior design company. I have extensive business training experience and teach business entrepreneurship at university level.
My coaching practice:
As Director of Perspective Solutions, I coach corporate executives, small-to-medium enterprise owners, entrepreneurs and individuals. Drawing on a network of associates, I run group, team and peer coaching as stand-alone programs or in conjunction with training programs. I also administer coaching programs for organisations and provide ongoing program supervision. The people I coach maximize their performance, expand their skills, and sustain behavioural change whilst achieving their potential.
I am passionate about the credibility of the coaching profession and its value to clients. To this end I am actively engaged in evidence-based coaching research and have published magazine articles and presented papers at conferences. I have held a number of roles within my local ICF Chapter and been a volunteer at ICF Australasia conferences. I am also actively involved in volunteer programs providing coaching/mentoring to university students and primary school children.
The most unique quality of my leadership:
People say they are inspired by my energy, enthusiasm, vision, creativity and positive outlook. I like to collaborate, engage with, and share knowledge and resources with others. My personal motto is to ‘enjoy life as a journey - not just as a destination’.
What I expect from the coaches on my calls:
Learning stems from a commitment to take responsibility for one’s own success. I expect coaches to read the material, prepare beforehand, and come to classes ready to actively engage and participate. Show respect and non-judgmental acceptance to other class members. Be open-minded, open-hearted, and willing to have some fun along the way.
My favorite benefit from leading classes:
It is such a privilege to have the opportunity to be a part of other coaches’ learning journeys. Each person has a special talent and something unique to contribute to classes. I find it inspiring to hear about the diversity of experiences and different approaches that coaches bring to the profession.
Feedback from students:
Students say they enjoy my classes immensely because I provide great leadership, engage everyone in the sessions, move the group along, and bring value to every class. Direct quotes from students: “Shared in a meaningful way to help us grow”; “Outstanding!”; “Thought provoking and resourceful class”; “I left the class with heightened awareness”; “Definitely worthwhile”; “A fun and awesome class!”
