I began leading classes for CoachInc:
2013
Before coaching professionally:
I held senior leadership roles in Human Resources Management within multi-divisional organizations. My responsibilities included leading initiatives designed to attract, develop and retain talent. This required collaborating with leaders and teams across all levels of the organization. Much of my career focused on working with and leading teams virtually, both nationally and internationally. My coaching skills helped to facilitate communication in highly complex and diverse organizations.
My coaching practice:
I founded Workplace Matters in 2005 with a mission to create work environments where people want to work and are able to perform at their best. Today, I specialize in leadership and team development within small and mid-sized organizations. My leadership development programs, coaching engagements and team sessions are custom designed to provide relevant and practical solutions that make a lasting difference.
Introduction:
Core values of mine include integrity and personal growth. If I expect my clients to step outside their comfort zones to adopt new beliefs, habits and skills that support them in meeting their goals, then I need to ensure I am willing to do the same. Teaching classes at CoachInc.com allows me to give back and share my experiences, as well as challenge myself and continue to learn from the wealth of shared experiences by students and faculty alike.
The most unique quality of my leadership:
I lead from the circle not from a position. I strongly believe in the principle, people do not care what you know until they know how much you care. Leading with influence is much more inspiring and rewarding than leading from position.
What I expect from the coaches on my calls:
That they bring a willingness to share their experiences, challenge their assumptions, learn from others, and apply what they learn. Knowledge is only potential power. I also believe that it is not fair to others if you sit in the sidelines and take from what they share, and do not share yourself. I encourage coaches to share their experiences - both good and bad, ask questions, and be willing to be vulnerable. It is how we all learn, grow and benefit from our time together.
My favorite benefit from leading classes:
The opportunity to hear different viewpoints and experiences. Through this process, I understand the content and challenges in a whole new way and am able to adapt the class to be most meaningful to students.
Feedback from students:
Students appreciate my caring approach, and how I design creative ways for them to participate and be engaged.
