Faculty Bio - Susan Abrams
Name:
Susan Abrams
Coach Training:
Coach U
Certifications:
Master Certified Coach (ICF)
Education:
Bachelor - B.S.
Masters - M.Ed.
I began leading classes for CoachInc:
1999
Before coaching professionally:
I facilitated personal growth programs and sessions for individuals, couples, and families at the Option Institute in Massachusetts. I was certified in and taught the Option Process Dialogue. Through the Institute's Son Rise Program, I worked with children with autism and other developmental needs. With these experiences I developed expertise fundamental to coaching: listening, artful questioning, identifying strengths and limiting beliefs, and an attitude of acceptance, being present, and trusting the client as his/her own expert.
My coaching practice:
Includes a client base of coaches, professionals, small businesses and restoratives. My coaching approach includes spiritual coaching, life planning, and work that allows individuals of all walks of life to let go of old baggage, limits, and to develop a strong personal foundation, a vision, and a life strategy that gives them satisfaction and fulfillment.
Introduction:
I am intrigued and delighted by the uniqueness of individuals. I see this from three dimensions; who we have been, who we are, and who we are becoming. I hold a vision that each individual be able to express his/her uniqueness full measure with acceptance, satisfaction, and fulfillment. To quote Rumi: Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there.
The most unique quality of my leadership:
Unconditional positive regard for each person that creates an inviting environment for learning, discussion, and experimenting.
What I expect from the coaches on my calls:
To be an active student of the material both in and out of class; to dare/experiment; to contribute to a safe, inviting learning environment; and to take responsibility for your experience.
My favorite benefit from leading classes:
Our camaraderie as professional coaches developing ourselves and our ability to serve on behalf of our clients.
Feedback from students:
Susan is fun, encouraging, a great listener, and able to translate quickly what she just heard into a new frame to move the topic forward.
